Become a Member

Membership in the Moraga Horsemen's Association is open to any individual or family living in or near Moraga, California, who owns or aspires to own a horse or is interested in equestrian activities.

Members enjoy exclusive access to the MHA Arena, nestled in beautiful watershed land in Moraga. Members also receive discounts for MHA Clinics and events, and access to members-only playdays, trail rides, and informational presentations by horse professionals at our meetings. The MHA Pasture is exclusively available to MHA members (by separate application) and offers a unique pasture experience for appropriate horses and owners.

Prospective members are encouraged to read and fill out the Membership Application and Release of Liability linked below (coming soon). To become a member of Moraga Horsemen's Association, one must attend two MHA meetings and be approved as a new member by a general vote, in addition to submitting the Membership Application and Release of Liability (see below), as well as providing payment.

For those interested in boarding at MHA, standard membership is required first. Our MHA Pasture offers a rare opportunity for our members to board their horses on 100+ acres of scenic East Bay Municipal Utility District land, just steps from Redwood and Las Trampas trails. With space for up to fourteen horses, the pasture is a peaceful, natural environment suited for experienced owners who value space, community, working on the land, and trail access.

Boarding in the MHA pasture is open to active MHA members and requires participation in club activities and annual maintenance work, in accordance with our East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) stewardship plan. The terrain and seasonal grazing conditions demand attentive horse care and may not be suitable for all horses. We encourage newer equestrians or those looking for more amenities to explore local boarding barns with full-service facilities.

To learn more or to apply for a pasture spot, please contact the MHA president Bonnie Paul either by phone, 424-279-3374, or email, moragahorsemen@gmail.com. Active MHA members may submit a pasture occupancy application to be considered for a spot in the pasture or to be added to the waitlist.
